I love Liberty of London cotton and silk prints, Japanese kimonos, and pattern play with prints and stripes. So, I combined all three.
Shown above is VOGUE 1989 made with CHESHIRE, a vibrant, stylized floral graphic printed on trademarked Tana Lawn cotton. If you’re new to Tana Lawn, they are silky, fine-grained cotton prints produced at storied mills in Northern Italy for the beloved British brand Liberty of London. These legendary cottons are celebrated as some of the finest in fashion.
Traditional kimonos are both timeless and trending! Whether worn as lingerie, loungewear, or a luxurious layer over tank tops and T-shirts, versatile kimonos are one of the world’s most wardrobe-worthy garments. I love creating new versions in seasonal colorways.
Today, I am happy to bring you the first batch of a new curation of Liberty cottons and silks. Sometimes, I love a Liberty print so much that I buy it in both fibers. Liberty is famous for dainty, ditzy pastoral florals, but our new curation features some of their bolder, contemporary designs.
