Hello Paisley Peeps! I love paisley patterns. I love the teardrop design so much that I even named a beloved pooch Paisley. Paisley is the popular Persian pattern with a seriously Scottish surname. Why?
Although the traditional teardrop design originated in Persia, Paisley's namesake is the Scottish mill town that first mass-produced the Persian pattern for fashionable Europeans.
By 1860, the town’s legendary looms were weaving paisleys in 15 colors, a very big deal back then. Most weavers of the time could only weave in two. A star was born!
