I’m thrilled to share an extraordinary cache of rare, fine-quality silk dupioni, exclusive deadstock from an old-time Hollywood couturier. These are the kinds of silks that once moved quietly through the back rooms of LA designers: 16 rich, luminous solid colors, each one woven with the subtle slubs, soft sheen, and textured depth that make dupioni so beloved.
I love how dupioni moves through a wardrobe. I wear silk jackets and vests as everyday basics—they glide effortlessly over or under other layers, elevate even the simplest outfit, and travel beautifully.
And here’s a favorite trick: I often “kick back” silk dupioni by washing it. A gentle run through the washer (and sometimes the dryer) softens the drape, mutes the sheen, and adds an organic crinkle—something I first saw years ago from designer Giselle Shepatin. If you want to try it, test a small strip: wash, air-dry one half, machine-dry the other, and see which texture you love.
These silks are true Hollywood finds in limited yardage. When they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
Stock up on your must-have shades of these rare deadstock silks.
