I love to have sewing projects in progress for next season so that I have new fresh garments ready to wear when the weather changes. Plus sewing for spring in winter brightens up my sewing studio.
When I shift my wardrobe from from winter to spring, I ask myself what new garments I want to have waiting in the wings for warmer weather to come. Part of that process involves culling my closet of less-worn garments for my locally-renowned giveaway box.
Once a garment goes in the giveaway box, it’s gone for good. Sometimes word gets out in our country community that the box is full, and I find my kitchen spontaneiously full of friends who want first dibs. For truly prized pieces, I give special garments to a halfway house for women who are reentering the workforce.
