Hello Sewing Friends!
Greetings from an unknown altitude en route to Paris for our Fall ParisTilton Tour. Stay tuned for trendspotting reports from the French fashion capital as soon as my designing sister Katherine and I make the rounds.
Today I am excited to add new arrivals to the DENIM and WORKWEAR collections and bring you a subscriber special on both. Enter code WORKWEAR2023 on November 1-2 and get 20% off all fabrics in both collections.
Denim is a fabled fabric with a rags-to-riches story. Long before denim was de rigeuer, it was a working-class fabric not worn in high society. Then, after pretty-boy pop stars like Elvis Presley, James Dean, and Marlon Brando donned denim, the once-and-future fabric and workwear labels like Levi’s made the leap from blue-collar to blue-blood.
Hollywood was America’s aristocracy, and when it donned denim, Americans did too, and the world followed. Many of us remember the birth of “designer denim” when Gloria Vanderbilt launched her first line of jeans in 1976. Today, denim is a darling of top designers and is found in the collections of haute couturiers the world over.
Many of the fabrics in our DENIM collection come to us as exclusive deadstock from fashion houses in California, Canada, Italy, and New York. You’ll find stash-worthy scores from Valentino, Theory, Loro Piana and more.
The WORKWEAR collection features select fabrics from the CORDUROY, FLANNEL, LINEN, and JAPANESE collections. Remember to enter code WORKWEAR2023 for 20% off the DENIM and WORKWEAR collections through November 2 on MARCYTILTON.com.
Happy Sewing!
