Hello Sewing Friends,
Our STOREWIDE FREEDOM SALE continues again today when you can save 30% off all fabrics on MARCYTILTON.com.
I am obsessed with Liberty of London’s trademarked Tana Lawn Italian cottons and love pattern play. If you are already a Liberty lover then you know how sensual and visual these silky cottons are. In my personal stash, I keep an ever-growing library of Liberty cottons to create new summer bedscapes—duvet covers and pillowcases. They make for ultra-luxe bedding.
This week during my summer sewing staycation, I whipped up a lightweight duvet cover shown above and below. Liberty cottons are so fine that you can simply tear them as opposed to cutting them because everything is on grain.
Tearing makes for an easy-peasy process. I love to make my duvet covers square, and for this one, I needed to finish at 85” on all sides. I would tear them into strips, stitch them together, and add more as needed to create a colorful Liberty collage that adds a pop of color to my otherwise black-and-white style.
On the front side show above I used about ten Liberty cottons from my personal stash and about four on the back. To be clear, I am not a quilter, and this is not meant to be an heirloom quilt—just a fun way to keep home decor feeling fresh each season.
You’ll find a curated collection of my favorites for 30% off now in our LIBERTY TANA LAWN COLLECTION on MARCYTILTON.com. Below are a few fabrics from our current curation of LIBERTY TANA LAWN COTTONS. Our STOREWIDE FREEDOM SALE runs through July 9 while yardage lasts.
