Hello Sewing Friends!
Today I am happy to add more new exclusive designer deadstock to the ITALIAN COLLECTION. Many are fabrics you’ll find available only on MARCYTILTON.com.
The history of high fashion in Italy dates back to the Middle Ages when cities including Florence, Milan, Naples, Rome and Venice produced some of the finest velvet, silks and wools in the world.
During the Renaissance Italian fashion was expensive and extravagant—so much so that Italian florins became a sort of reserve currency for luxury fabrics. Italian bankers traded gold brocades and silk velvets with braggadocious bourgeoisie who wore them as status symbols of nobility and wealth.
After decades of difficultly following the Industrial Revolution, Italians revived their rich textile tradition to re-emerge as a contemporary source of some of the finest fashion fabrics in the world.
We are always excited to bring you new exclusive fabrics from Italy. When you read the fabric descriptions on MARCYTILTON.com, you will discover deadstock that comes to us from some of the biggest names in fashion.
So if you love having some flash in your stash, I invite you to check out the 140+ fabrics available now in our ITALIAN COLLECTION.
Happy Sewing!
