First up below is my designing sister Katherine’s B6863 jacket pattern available now from Butterick. This versatile reversible hoodie can be made with large or small buffalo checks in your favorite color paired with a variety of different neutral houndstooths. This is a great go-to garment for keeping cozy in cool weather. You’ll find cutting and construction tips on Katherine’s post about B6863 on my blog.
Next up is a version of V1689 made with HOLLYWOOD SQUARES by Carol on the ArtBarn team. The studio name for this popular pattern is The Groovy Shacket. The pattern is presently out of print but still available from Etsy, Sew Direct, Pattern Review and other online resellers. For sewing tips I invite you to check out my blog post about V1689.
Then you’ll find two versions of V9376 another popular out-of-print pattern still available from eBay, Etsy, Amazon and others. The first of the two versions of V9376 shown below is made with BEATRICE, a beautiful brown grain cotton flannel with a cozy brushed finish. The second version is made with REDWOOD HERRINGBONE, another cozy flannel with a brushed finish. But if blue is more your hue, then this garment would also look great in TURQUOISE HERRINGBONE.
And finally wrapping up our fashion parade today is some pattern play with V1817, a very versatile garment that can be made with or without sleeves. This popular design is available now from Vogue Patterns. Shown below I’ve created a version that blends four flannels with funky buttons to match. The fun numbers print featured is available now in two colorways as GRAY TIME OUT and BLUE TIME OUT. You’ll find two posts with sewing tips for V1817 on my blog, but I suggest starting here if you want to sew the sleeveless version as a vest.
