According to Merchant & Mills, THE DRESS SHIRT pattern was inspired by “Grandpa’s shirt” and is “absurdly comfortable”. Shown below is a version created by Carol on the ArtBarn team featuring KIT and LIBBY, two of our new beautiful blooming additions to the LIBERTY TANA LAWN collection.
Carol modified the original Merchant & Mills pattern to make it even more practical as a go-to everyday garment. She added an opening in the front with functional buttonholes and fabulous buttons from the Paris Flea Market. Plus she placed spacious pockets on both sides perfect for tucking away tools and trinkets.
THE DRESS SHIRT pattern is perfect for both beginners and experienced experts alike. It’s a big basic blank slate ideal for pattern play and making your own marvelous modifications.
