Hello Sewing Friends!
Today we are starting off with a fabulous new dress made by Carol on the ArtBarn team using our MERCHANT & MLLS TRAPEZE PATTERN pattern and featuring SUZU, one of our new NANI IRO Japanese wovens. Check out this video on my blog to learn more about these exquisite wabi sabi wovens by celebrated textile artist Naomi Ito.
Also today I am happy to bring you some sophisticated new stretch wovens that put the ready in ready-to-wear. First up you’ll find some new additions to our long running ACE series of next-generation rayon blends. Also today we are introducing the first set of solids in our new ULTRA series featuring silky soft cotton blends exactly like the ones I find in the best boutiques in Paris.
Don’t let the name nylon in the blend put you off because it is a sure sign of fine quality. When it was first introduced in the 1930s, nylon was a novelty that soon became a sensation for replacing pricey silk stockings that few could afford during the depression. In 1955 nylon made its runway debut at the Paris fashion shows in the collections of Coco Chanel, Jean Patou, and Christian Dior, and the rest is history.
You’ll find all of today’s new fabrics in our ACE+ ULTRA COLLECTION.
Happy Sewing!
