Today I’m happy to bring you the new RESORT COLLECTION featuring a selection of designer fabrics for fashion’s fifth season.
Historically fashion houses have presented two core collections each year—Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter—each divided into haute couture and prêt-à-porter. But thanks to a global trend of winter travel to warm places, designers decided to add a new season to the fashion calendar. Some call it Cruise, Holiday, Pre-Fall, Pre-Spring or Travel, but there’s no doubt that the fashion season of eternal spring is here to stay.
From fashion for snowbirds to staycationers, one hallmark of resort collections are playful poolside prints on travel-friendly blends that make the fashion statement, “Hey, I’m on vacation." Think fabric for coverups, palazzos, jumpsuits, tunics and drifty dresses.
New notables include MAUI, a beautiful rayon/linen blend featuring lush leaves in glorious green, and VIA VENETO, a fluid rayon sateen featuring a glam geometric motif. BELLE BLUE and ROSIE are pair of radiant rose prints in two colorways on Italian viscose deadstock. These are just a few of the 200 new fabrics available now in the RESORT COLLECTION.
So whether you are sewing for a real vacation or stashing for some staycation sewing, the new RESORT COLLECTION has something for everyone.
