Today I am happy to bring you a new set that I’m calling THE SOPHISTICATES where you will find a selection of fabrics featuring contemporary takes on classic High Street styles such as plaid, herringbone and houndstooth.
Today’s High Street style is better known for post-modern patterns like camo, paisley and perky prints, but during its golden age in the Edwardian era High Street fashion was famous for the best of British bespokery, a sensibility that trended traditional even when it was trying to break the rules.
You will find a curated selection of some of these classic motifs in THE SOPHISTICATES. The challenge when working with traditional designs is to try something different. I love to blend patterns using asymmetrical designs to create fresh looks that are both classic and contemporary.
