Hello Sewing Friends!
It might be cold and gray outside, but the ArtBarn at MARCYTILTON.COM is a veritable conservatory of new flowering fabrics right now including a few fabulous new finds from France, India and Japan.
New notables today start with JUBILEE a simply stunning Indian cotton kantha comprised of colorful pieced patches hand-stitched to a solid backing with neat selvedge edges tucked under with even more delightful decorative stitching. This is a very limited-edition special cut sold only as 2¾ yard pieces.
DARK DAHLIA is another striking hand-stitched Indian cotton kantha ideal for high fashion, home decor and crafty accessories. I’ve already made cushion covers for two softy pillows on my dog/napping sofa in my sewing studio.
UNGARO is a fabulous floral on a beautiful blend of French wool and silk with touch of nylon in a lightly textured twill weave. The selvedge on this rare find reads 'tissus haute couture’ and indeed it is. This deadstock score was produced for celebrated designer Emanuel Ungaro. So if you love wearing fabrics with a high fashion lineage, this is a must-stash.
IMOGEN and GILLIAN are a pair of prints on airy 100% Japanese cotton featuring wonderful watercolor florals with a beautiful Bloomsbury feel.
The BOTANICALS COLLECTION is in full bloom!
Happy Sewing!
