Hello Sewing Friends!
Today I am happy to bring you more new additions to our LIBERTY TANA LAWN COLLECTION and give you a closer look at The Frenchy Shirt (V1899). What do you get when you blend impeccable Italian cotton with bespoke British prints and a French-inspired shirt design? You get The Frenchy Shirt shown above made with BANBURY, AFTON and INVERNESS — three of our new Liberty releases.
We fondly refer to V1899 as The Frenchy Shirt because it evokes men’s shirts seen in Paris that combine different prints while having the dressmaker details seen in women’s blouses from the ’30’s and ‘40s which I saw in Parisian vintage shops.
If you love pattern play as much as we do, then my new Frenchy Shirt pattern available now from Vogue Patterns and our new season of LIBERTY TANA LAWN cotton prints are for you. Liberty of London has a mind-boggling catalog of over 50,000 prints. Each year my designing sister Katherine and I curate a fresh mix of their famed florals plus many of their more modern motifs to create a collection of beautiful blenders perfect for pattern play.
If you want to try your hand making my new V1899 design by mixing a Liberty or two, or three, together, then I invite you to first read my latest blog post featuring four versions in different fabrics plus heaps of helpful construction tips. You can never have too much Liberty in your stash :)
Happy Sewing!
